Perched just above a primary residential intersection, the house leverages a secondary side street to discreetly access the rear of the site, allowing the primary living spaces to align at grade. Elevation change and layered landscape are employed as a buffer from the street, shaping a controlled arrival sequence while establishing privacy from the urban condition below.

A series of courtyards carved into the building mass integrates architecture and landscape, drawing daylight deep into the plan while screening the home from the street. From the front, the house offers selective transparency through the auto court, while expansive glazing at the rear opens fully to panoramic views over the Burrard Inlet and Stanley Park.

The roofscape is articulated as a sequence of low-slope, hooked wrap-down forms that define individual living zones and layer the façade. These sculpted planes orient views, modulate scale, and guide movement through the home, reinforcing a clear spatial hierarchy while unifying the architecture into a cohesive, directional composition.
