Gary Olsen

Senior Designer

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." – Ferris Bueller

With 52 years of experience in the industry, 25 of which spent in the creation of high-end custom homes, Gary has been working with LAI since 1999. Gary performs a number of roles integral to project delivery at LAI, ranging from conceptual design, architectural & interior detailing, and furniture design to contract administration. Gary is a cracker-jack problem solver, his motto being “the more complicated the better.”

Gary’s personal and professional passion is architecture. His interest was sparked in 1972 as a civil servant with the HMCS Esquimalt naval base documenting the buildings and interiors of the installation and adjacent military college, Hatley Park. A professed “architectural tourist,” Gary has visited eight countries and three continents, and continues to explore the architecture, culture, and history of whichever locale he puts a pin in.
