VANCOUVER, BC  |  SIZE: 2,400 SF  |  YEAR: 2005

Situated on the shore of Whistler’s Alta Lake, this home’s contemporary style stands out among the resort town’s typically more rusticated alpine aesthetic. The steepness of the site and the client’s desire for a connection between the living spaces and the lakeshore led to an inverted plan, and the experience of the lake and forest setting is unimpeded by building structure. Minimal, modern details are softened by the incorporation of rich and tactile materials such as slate, stone, and deep-stained Douglas fir, and provide an inviting yet neutral backdrop to the client’s art collection.
