Anne Maisonneuve

Intermediate Designer

Intern Architect AIBC, M. Arch, B.F.A.

Anne found her way to the discipline of architecture through Fine Arts studies. As a graduate of the Painting program at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Environmental Design, Anne’s personal and professional interests lie at the intersection of function, craft, and imagination. A Prairie transplant to the West Coast, Anne has also enjoyed opportunities to study and travel in other parts of the world – experiences to which she credits her motivation to become more inquisitive and reflective in her approach. She enjoys incorporating these personal experiences to the rigours and technical challenges of creating detailed custom residential environments for LAI’s exclusive clientele. Anne appreciates the opportunity to work with clients to facilitate and advise in the development of a unique set of aspirations specific to each project.

Byron Tokarchuk

Senior Associate

B.Arch, CSBA

Byron has been working with the firm for over 20 years, and has been an integral part of all the projects we have created over the years. He brings a keen editor’s eye to his work, and an enthusiasm for well-thought-out design at every level. He grew up working on a prairie farm, and is firmly grounded as a result. Coming out West to UBC’s School of Architecture in the ’90s, he fell deeply in love with the place, and has never been convinced to leave. An outsider, he has a great appreciation for the amazing beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and tries his best to get out in it daily. Byron’s mother was a respected residential interior designer and artist. She exposed him to the beauty of design, and the works of architects like Frank Lloyd Wright, Alvar Aalto, and Louis Kahn. Byron would imaginatively draw houses as a child, and drew up plans for the future. The work LAI does is a great fit, as it allows him to keep on dreaming.
